Mother of the Maid

Mother of the Maid, Jane Anderson’s engrossing and moving new play depicting the story of Joan of Arc as seen through the eyes of her mother gets its West Coast premiere this November and December at the Marin Theatre Company in Mill Valley, CA. The production stars the brilliant and compelling Sherman Fracher as Isabelle, Joan’s mum; dynamic Scott Coopwood as her da, Jacques; the bright and earnest Brennan Pickman-Thoon as Pierre, her brother; the always amazing Rosie Hallett as The Maid herself; elegant Liz Sklar as Nicole, the Lady of the Court; Noelle Clary, in her debut, as Monique; and yours truly, the indescribable me, as Father Gilbert, the village priest. I also show up briefly as the Maid’s sycophantic Chamberlain at court and as a sympathetic court Scribe. The direction of the show is under the powerful, steady, and insightful hand of Jasson Minadakis, MTC’s Artistic Director.

Previews begin Thursday, November 14th, 2019, opening is Tuesday the 19th, with closing Sunday, December 8thwith a possible extension till Sunday, December 15th.
