Starting the fabulous "One Man, Two Guvnors" at the Berkeley Rep April 7th. Based on Carlo Goldoni's classic farce, it promises to be a fantastic show. Directed by the incomparable David Ivers and starring the ever amazing Dan Donohue (as Francis) this screaming comedy was the hit of the season a couple of years back both in London and New York. I play Charlie "The Duck" Clench, who in commedia parlance would be the "Pantalone" character. In this version, he's a scrap metal dealer in Brighton with shady underworld connections and a difficult daughter. The show previews May 8th, opens May 15th and closes June 21st with a possible extension to July 5th. That's in Berkeley. We take it up again in the Fall for a run at South Coast Rep in Costa Mesa, a wonderful theater where I did a lot of work many a year ago.
